Pizza is not a reward 🍕 | Short workouts are better

How's your week been? The highlight of ours was running our live online event on how to get off the Yo-Yo Diet (if you want a replay let us know!) and filming 10 brand new MerryBody classes!

You'd think filming 10 Yoga and Pilates classes in one day is A LOT, and it was, however, MerryBody classes range from beginner to challenge, from Yin (slow and nurturing) to Pilates (fiery and fun). So in fact, it was a very balanced day. We actually felt energised afterwards!

However, we were definitely hungry!

We both had pizza for dinner afterwards, not as a 'reward'... it just so happened that Damiano was in the mood to make his famous pizza for me. When Carla heard the news she obviously had the craving too and went out and bought pizza bases. Although I won the dinner game, I've promised that Damiano will make extra for Joel and Carla next time!

It really is amazing to no longer look at foods as 'good' or 'bad'. Or as rewards.

Anyway, enough about pizza (for now)!

💜 Skip the ritual of waking up, looking at your body, judging and hating your body. When you wake up, instead of saying the list of mean things about yourself, maybe swap it for just one good thing.

💜 Our MerryBody mantra, “You are amazing just as you are”, is a combination of self-acceptance and self-celebration.

💜 Self-compassion is being kind and “forgiveful” (forgiving) of yourself.

💜 Yoga, Pilates and meditation practices work because they’re present practices. When you connect to the present, where you are here and now, you are more mindful of your thoughts and how you feel.
